Sure, SOME of the things in the past were pretty awesome, but for the most part, people were GIANT dickheads to each other. Even worse than they are now. Imagine not being able to vote because you’re a woman or because of the colour of your skin. Don’t forget about disease either. It’s good to love history but with that, you have to accept that not everything was rosy.

I typically romanticize fashion, interior design and architecture. it always amuses me when people are like for example. “I wish i could live in times of Marie Antoinette.” Its just like.. really? REALLY? Do you have any idea. Or even the people who wish they lived in the horribly oppressive 1950s.
